Of course anything is possible as those pix of the leaner show.
I wonder if a leaner hack puts less stress to the bike frame?

Oh Sure, leaners are far less harmful than rigid hacks

And what do you have? A hack

Just ride the TDM as is!

Okay show me a two wheel motorcycle that you can ride safety in the Snow and I show you a happy Ricky

Besides if anybody can carry crap on a bike is me, but even then sometimes I need the extra space to carry three big old dogs

Then again maybe you are right and a sidecar is the stupidest thing ever, but even then I want to make one some day soon.

Well, if you add a sidecar it won't be a two wheel motorcycle will it?

Sounds like you need a jeep!

I got the bike kind of in a hurry (I have one for a short time many years ago and I like it a lot), thinking of the sidecar all along, but if it does not work and I can not sell it for a decent amount, I guess I will try to make it into a more capable off road machine (more for fun that any other reason)
Sounds like mine but I don't remember posting any photos. Horizontal crack on the outside of the fame in the area of bottom engine mount. Had it at least a year and thought it was just a deep scratch in the frame. When it widened a little I discovered I also had a 8" vertical crack on the inside of the frame opposite the first.

I might be wrong but isnt that a problem that some super teneres had in their frame too? I remember seeing a couple that either cracked or someone reinforced the frame right there. Im not sure if it was in that same place that the frames cracked on the super tens.

Yes some of them had cracked and broken frames also. Don't know it there was a common area for the breaks.

Varadero is a bad choice for me dude...

but wifey loves the comfy cushion seats...I actually posted the Vara for sale...but someone pops out and wanted to buy the TDM instead...I have to let go 1 somehow...and since the TDM has been laying eggs for the past 1yr,so i thought why not...I could buy it again when I feel it's time to ride again. Now I thought it's a good time to ride, but I was wrong...baby loves to spend time outdoors...so weekends is family day....will still be getting a TDM again definately with lower milege, and better condition in near future...

So at the meantime, the CX is my toybike and investment.

However...I will still be lurking around this wonderful thread for updates and hopefully some nice rides piccies from you guys....

yeah...i saw that on the super ten thread...dammit...suddenly i am getting cold...i am about to collect the Super tenere750 next month to fulfill my curiousity of knowing the bike and to own 1.
I test rode the bike before putting a small deposit to the owner, strange enough,it's love at 1st ride....the torque feels strangely orgasmic, the sound and feel of the bike somehow feels like a GS....

Anyways...i've decided...to jump in the bandwagon....

Or maybe a GS feels like the super ten instead

From what i heard of the cracks on the super 10 they appear on some of the bikes and only those that were ridden hard (as far as i know). Its no excuse for that kind of bike though. But those who reinforced their frame just in case and rode off road seemed to never had problems so if you are planning to make jumps on it it might be a safe bet. There was a guide somewhere to where to strenghten the frame.

I recently replaced my 140/80/17 K60's after 12,000kms but it's interesting, the new Heidenau now has a "T" speed rating as against the previous higher "H" speed rating?

Wonder if the compound will last as long?
