Maybe someone has asked and even answered this already...but why not bring the new TDM to the states, especially with the recent success with the Stroms? And the TDM is SO much better looking than the strom. Anyone get both and can compare the two bikes?

I would love to see that as well, if only to benefit from the aftermarket parts that enterprising Americans would bring to market, like a decent bashplate

Agreed all round. Can't understand (with Western logic) why Yamaha won't wake up and smell opportunity. With Eastern logic, maybe it's a pride & prejudice thing - they (or at least some high-ranker) had their pride hurt by poor sales in the past, and have gone off in a huff?

Good enterprise on the bashplate btw. Would it drop lower, to the next level of side-vents, or would the sharp downpipe bends still be a problem? Should have recognised the item sooner - I used to have a Tranny.

Agreed. The Strom has arguably more poke, but is a monster, and pig-ugly in design and quality of materials and manufacture - Suzukis were always tinny.
Do you have the Kawasaki Versys over there? Will be interesting to see how that sells.

How is it finding replacement/maintainence parts for TDM's in the states?
