So I'm on the road and it starts raining

I make it about 30 miles and decide I'm hungry. Now over here on eastern Virginia we have a restaurant called the Virginia diner in Wakefield on route 460. I'm there about 5 minutes when another biker comes dripping in and they seat him beside me. He says 'you must be on the other one' I turn and see he's on a spanking new GSAqua and it's absolutely loaded with Toutatech gear. He's decked out in Arai and Klim stem to stern. He asks where you headed and I say 'just up to my mothers to fix her dripping sink'. 'Where you going'..........OREGON... Well I'm trying to stifle this obvious look of incredulity on my puss and I say... 'no shit'.. great come back right? I have such a gift of gab. It's raining harder so we sit and drink coffee for nearly an hour . His last daughter just finished college so he's finally putting many years of dreaming into practice . As we departed I gave him my card and promised him mine was just the first of many to come. I think we all feel a little envious of him.
Please forgive me for not remembering your name...that was my misfortune. I feel privileged to have been your first admirer. May you be safe and well.

I miss riding to the Virginia Diner for lunch on the weekends. Used to make a big loop up through Yorktown and Williamsburg and catch the James River ferry across to Surry.

Hope the rider you met enjoyed it as well.
