Laugh East Olympic NF Trails

I'm looking to get our and test my 1200GS on some day rides from Gig Harbor. I'm not ready to hit anything too crazy yet, so I thought some forestry and logging roads would be a good place to start.

Does anyone have any suggestions on easy to moderate rides from Gig Harbor up into the Olympics? The first one that pops out at me on the GPS is NF-25 / N. Hamma Hamma road, has anyone ridden this path before?

Any suggestions other than to gsms would greatly appreciated. http://www.advrider.com/forums/misc....editfavsmilies

I rode it this past Sunday , the road is pretty easy to manage . Jus t don't go to fast or you'll miss the sign that points to the left fork you need to take in order to stay on the road . I plan to ride it again but this time to take the fork that will take me up through Jefferson Pass . My neighbor who grew up dirt biking those roads said the road through the pass is pretty bad for trucks but surprising easy for bikes and small cars ..can't wait to try it . The scenery was incredible .

I'd like to check out the road for Jefferson pass. Is that the one the cuts of right than switchbacks up the mountain? I was looking at it on Google earth and wondering if it was passible on a 12GS.

How about next Saturday? Jefferson pass if it is not too difficult? sometime early morning so it is not too hot and humid?

Breaking a leg is the last thing I want to see after today. But a grp ride sounds good. Are you familiar with the area?

I was up there a few days ago and it was in pretty good shape. Rode up from Cushman, down FS24 headed towards 101, then turned up 2441 (jefferson pass) and then rode that over to Hamma-Hamma, up to the top and then down to 101 and home.

In years past 2441 washes out and was down to a foot wide path, but right now it is fine. It's clear enough to drive a truck down now, so you'd probably be fine on your bike. I'm typically on a DR650.
