Garmin 2610(BMW NAV II)
For those that want to use the mapsource topo with the V6 or V7 City Navigator maps, I found a way to do this.
I don't know if anyone else has figured this out but I thought I would post it anyway. You can load both detail map sets, as much as your compact flash card can hold, I have a 2 gig CF. Then you can turn off the map sets in the info menus when you want to use either function. As you know you can't use both at the same time, but if you have the v7 or v6 mapset active and topo off you can auto route to a location and save the route then activate the topo maps and turn off the v6 or v7 (which ever you have installed) I found this out when I upgraded the maps from V6 to V7 and noticed the detail map files were in larger chunks of land. I hope this is helpfull to others, if you have any questions just ask in this thread. Ride on, Paul |

there is a menu on the 2610
while on the map, press menu TWICE, i believe it gives you the choice of picking "map info" then click there and you will see all the maps that are on your CF card, then you can check or UNcheck the map sets you want "active" at that moment greg

Very cool. P.S. I did it on my 2720. Similar menu selections.

I've been doing that for a while, but with the old, pre Navteq Metroguide. It rocks, much more detail on back roads, streams, mountain tops w/elevation and fire breaks/trails, just no TOPO info, just the elevation listed for mountain tops with their name.
I use the City Nav for haulin butt and Metroguide for sniffing around the back roads. Turn them on and shut them off at will.
