I haven't left Texas yet. I think I'll check that out in a few days.

Thanks!

Looks like a good route, El Jefe.

I'm just north of Salt Lake and have plenty of room in my backyard, so if you want a free place to camp on your way through Utah, you're welcome to stay here.

Thanks for the offer. That's very generous. I don't think I'll need a stop before I hit ID but you never know. I'll keep it in mind.

Got the passport, bike's loaded. Just kicking the tires and lighting the fires in the morning.

Have fun!

ElJefe,

Would enjoy catching up with you when you get back to Austin. I've been wanting to ride my Tenere to Glacier NP and am contemplating a trip in late August/early September. Have a great trip.

When first seeing your picture of your loaded bike I thought that you had a lot of stuff on the back of your bike. But upon closer look, that's a real tidy job of packing your gear, and it should ride the whole trip very well. It will affect your mpg at speed, not too much off the highway.

Have a great trip; you're going to one the prettiest places in the world.

I'm in Austin and am considering a similar trip on my 800 Roadie. My brothers live in Alberta, so I will be meeting up with them. I'll be following this with interest.

Hey.... I'm leaving Austin in the morning. Haven't decided on a destination. Was thinking on riding towards the Three Sisters and seeing the hill country. Wasn't sure if I want to go home or on an unscheduled ride-about.

Austin to Banff on a Tiger 800XC

Thanks for all the comments and encouragement guys. I was having a great ride today.

I got to Ballenger Texas and this happened.

I hope those pictures aren't huge. I'm on my phone.

So I only logged 200 miles today and I'm about 300 miles off pace so 10 days in Canada now becomes nine days in Canada barring any other delays.
