KTM 950 Sagging rear turn signals.

So on my 2005 KTM 950 Adventure the previous owner had put on some Chinese made LED turn signals. The signals were slowly getting lower and lower to the exhaust. Im assuming that the heat was just causing them to slowly bend that way. Ive now put on some new Oxford LED signals but am wonder if I also need to build a heat shield? Has anyone else had issues with this?
