If I hadn't already promised my daughter I'd take her to the US next weekend I'd be in. Looks to be my kind of trip. I'm looking forward to hearing about it. If there's others doing this trip, or something similar later in August I'd like to know. Have fun!

Quick note to everyone going, be sure you have fuel for at least 300km.

Knobbies are not necessarily required but you're going to want dual sport tires.

Google Earth says about 1200km of (mostly) dirt.

Funny as it sounds, there isn't much organized camp grounds in the area. There's Big Water http://bigwatercampground.ca/ , but they don't have showers. It will take you about 10 miles out of your way. The Esso Truck Stop (you'll pass by on your way to Kamiskotia road, which leads to the trail to Smooth Rock Falls) offers free showers with a fuel purchase or $5.00.

I have my bike apart right now, but if I get it back up tomorrow, I'll check out a spot just off the road to S.R.F. that I remember seeing last year. It isn't too hard to find and is right beside a river. I'll let you know If somebody has claimed it. If it isn't claimed I'll give you directions with a pm.

No worries. We're going to detour off Pine S to Gibson Lake Road and camp at Kettles. Breakfast at Mike's and then off to SRF

Saturday Morning 10 am meeting in Capreoll

May I suggest we all meet in Capreol 10 am Saturday morning. I was advised that the M+R Grill on Coulson (downtown) is quite a popular establishment.

I was thinking for breakfast. I will be leaving my hunt camp near grundy lake at 0800 so I will likely be in capreol by 0930.

JUST Correction!
I have been told the M&R Grill is on Younge St. Just down from the 4-way stop.

Not Coulson St!

Thumb

Check in!

Well, that was fun! 1,000 miles of dirt along working and non-working lumber roads of Northern Ontario. Unfortunately, the last 200 were through a nasty, cold downpour but it is all part of the adventure.

Great time guys!

Awesome Pic, Hopefully we will get some pics up

In case anybody wants to know the trips itinerary here it is:

Day One. Leaving Capreol via Portelance Road to Sandy Lake Road to HWY 560 and Shining Tree (fuel stop) and then straight to Kettle Lakes Park via Grassy Lake Road and Gibson Lake Road:
https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/46.70...5d541c!1m0!3e0

Day Two we'll do a morning highway burn to Timmins and head to Mike's Restaurant for breakfast. Then we're off to the Abitibi Road for our first leg to Smooth Rock Falls. This is mostly an unmaintained road and is a little rough in sections. Once in Smooth Rock, lunch and refuel and off to HWY 634 to Abitibi Canyon and New Post Falls:
https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/48.55...091958!1m0!3e0

Day Three . From there we would take Spruce Falls' road to Foleyet. continue on to Foleyet Timber Road to Sultan Industrial Road to Ramsey Lake:
https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/49.99...8b743a!1m0!3e0

On Day Four at Ramsey Lake Road we will be parting company. I will continue on the Sultan Industrial Road and back to Shining Tree and you guys will follow the Ramsey Lake Road to Webbwood:
https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/47.53...m3!1m0!1m0!3e0

An awesome trip with four great guys, some high speed fun! Hopefully we can get some pics up soon.
