NMOHVA's 3rd Annual Rubber Chicken Ride--Truth or Consequences, NM

3rd Annual NMOHVA Rubber Chicken Ride

Please Join Us for NMOHVA’s 3rd Annual
Rubber Chicken Ride!

October 24th-26th, 2014
Truth or Consequences, N.M.

NMOHVA’s prior two Rubber Chicken rides have been a great success, and we're hoping to organize an even more enjoyable ride this year!

Join NMOHVA for our 3rd annual Rubber Chicken ride, a fund-raising, AMA sanctioned dual-sport ride.

All proceeds from event registrations & donations go directly to NMOHVA's Access Defense Fund, which finances NMOHVA's ongoing fight to maintain OHV access to our public roads and trails.

Here’s a taste of what you can expect during this event :
3 great days of dual-sport motorcycle riding in the Sierra County area around Truth or Consequences, NM.
Friday , Saturday, and Sunday will feature a variety of dual sport, single-track, and road riding options through the mountains of Southern New Mexico.

We will be riding the Monticello "Box", along with Burma road, Winston/Chloride, Mt. Withington, and a ride up Chloride Creek into the Gila, and over the Continental Divide, along with the Palomas Gap, and many other cool ride routes!

All riding at this event is strictly "no fee", and at the event participant's discretion. Maps of suggested routes will be provided and we anticipate plenty of people who would be willing to let others follow them as they explore the beautiful and varied scenery around T or C and the Gila National Forest.
All road riding requires a legal, plated bike. Trails system riding requires a valid NM OHV sticker or sticker from a reciprocal state.

Event Registration Cost: $55
Here's what you get:

  • Saturday night BBQ dinner with great food and a chance to catch up with the other event participants to trade stories!
  • Customized event T-shirt
  • Custom event ride decal
  • Raffle ticket for Saturday night’s raffle, with a chance to win some great prizes from our event sponsors!
  • $10 gift card to Rocky Mountain ATV/MC

NMOHVA has made arrangements with the Pelican Spa & Resort for a 10% discount on any room reservations made for this ride.

(Make sure to mention the NMOHVA Rubber Chicken Ride when you register).

how much for the NM OHV sticker and will they be available? I suspect it is a state issued gizzmo and available only at a state office, which most likely will not be open on the weekend.

If that is the case, can one mail in a request for a OHV sticker?

if you're planning on just trail riding in the T or C area, NM has a reciprocity agreement with TX, and your OHV sticker from Texas will be all you need.

If you're planning on riding any of the dual-sport rides, your bike will need to be plated, since you will be riding some county roads and paved roads.

If your bike has a Texas plate, you're good to go, if you just have an OHV decal, some rides (like the Monticello Box) would be fine, since you're just riding dirt from the village of Monticello up to the top of the Box, etc.

PM me if you have more questions regarding specific rides, etc.

Just noticed you're from AR, which also has a reciprocity agreement with NM, so you're good to go....

Here's a link for details regarding the NM Dept. of Game & Fish non-resident OHV permit requirements:
