Cool2 Scott Flying Squirel

A long shot here, but thought asking could do no harm and even turn up a few pictures and interesting stories.
My Father in his mid 90s and still with up god bless him, used to have just after WW2 a Scott Flying squirel 650, he tells some tales about his bike how smoth it was how he loved how it sounded the power for back then it sounded an interesting bike, a 650cc two stroke water cooled twin back then had to be a little special i would have thought myself.
Just asking has anybody got one had one know anybody who has / had one, and input on these bikes what has been done with them any input of interest and of course photos would be great. Can anyone help here?

Theres one in a semi local motorcycle museum, I check it out closely every time I see it, a bike way ahead of its time.

Banned from the TT for being to quick!

Look for silk motorcycles

Oh and I have pictures here somewhere, and a couple of my friends have owned a Scott or two in their time.

M Fathers old Scott was a 600 and not a 650, was a 1938, we looked everywhere could find no pictures of it. All those years ago and man he never stopped talking about it this afternoon.
Bikes have that effect on people those scotts must have been something special.

Scott

A friend owns a 27. We just rebuilt the top end, and replaced a very expensive radiator. The bike was taken to the Quail Motorcycle Gathering where it won best of the Quail ride. It is totally unrestored but is so far ahead of its time.

You can get a brand new engine for Scott's in any state of tune you like from a small Leicestershire company. http://mossengineering.co.uk

I think it's earlier than that. Probably 1920s

This is a 1930 machine and has the improved lighting system

That is a nice picture there. We were hopeing to find a few pictures in the old albums from my grandmother place of the scott, but sadly nothing, found plenty of my dad in north aftica during ww2 but that was about it.
Judging by that picture it could well be earlier i am far from knowledgable on them.
Doubt i will ever own one myself but they do interest me a lot.
