can't help you in the park but there is a couple nice campgrounds just outside the north side. KInky lake in the wildhorse provincial.

most of the prov parks in Alberta are online bookable only.
It is a long weekend so it may be a bit crazy in the park.
There is also a fire going on by the Sask crossing (icefields parkway) the highway is open, most hiking or camping in that area is shut down. A friend of a friend went threw on a bike a week ago, visibility was very low.neat pics of the swirling smoke as the bike went through. Jasper air is clear at the townsite but that could change with the wind.

Snaring River 10km out of Jasper, might be booked up on the long weekend though.

Just west of Jasper and into BC is Mount Robson PP. It's about 30 km west of Jasper on highway 16. Nice Park and I think is about $16/ night. Stayed there on the way up to the Yukon.

Jasper

Was in Jasper Sunday - Friday last week. Fire was out, on way back, signage was still up but area that was flagged previously had shrunk. Didn't see smoke either direction.

You will need a park pass or pay for days in. They were stopping all travellers on both ends. $20/day, $120 or $136 / annual I think? I bought annual as I will be back. If you don't buy and get caught, you will be fined. It's not worth the risk IMO.

A long weekend = busy in campsites. As mentioned try pre booking online via provincial govt site.

Enjoy! It's beautiful! Beware of bears and elk. Lots wandering through Wapiti camp last week...

Another option in Jasper area, although 130km south, is the campground at the icefields. Lots of climbers stay there and the stars on a clear night are unreal. There's another campground near by that will also have RVs in it.

We've always camped at Wapiti. There are lots of sites and bikes usually end up
right by the entrance and the shower facilities.

Full up...

All the campsites were full up. We rolled in on Thursday evening and found that Becker's Chalets, just south of the Wapiti Campground, had a vacancy. So that's where we stayed. It's a great place; modern, clean, well maintained, and quiet. Thanks for the recommendations, folks.
