Notice that more and more here. Nothing to come around a corner and see a nice, slick, completely green road out in the country. In the urban areas, the lawn crews blow all the clippings out in the road rather than actually, you know, doing their job.

The JFX (I-83 inside I-695) is like Mad Max beyond Thunderdome.

Foh Sho

BTW - I saw Mad Max today in Grand Central in NYC - NO not that Loon Mel, but the real Mad Max

Guy was dressed in some kind of MMA shirt, I think, with black leather pants, hair short on the sides, but spiked up the rest of his head.
Here's the kicker - he was pushing 50, by his face.

Now I'm all for looking different, but I'm thinking once ur passed 30, its time to grow up.

I could be wrong.

And do U really call the Md main land the Western Shore? Cause I've Never heard that term. My BFF from 4 yrs old, his Granny - (RIP) lived near Chestertown on da Chester River - awesome spot on the Eastern Shore. That is without a doubt another world compared to the main land of Md.

Been gone 14 years now. Not missing it. Was a different place 30+ years ago but I got the message real clear when DC spread all the way out to Fredneck.

Just to tease the merliners... the other day I needed to get a replacement title for a car of mine. Was in and out of the tag office here in GA in 10 minutes and the title arrived in less than a week. The employees even smiled and chatted with me. So different than my last visit to the Frederick MVA office.

Even back when I left, MD drivers were just... angry and scary.

The conditions have created the aggressive driving... Half the 'Maryland drivers' are not from Maryland!!.

Jack, the DC to Fredericksburg isn't dangerous, traffic only moves 10mph.

Years back I used to ride with some people from NYC. They didn't want any part of riding 495.

I was riding I70 west yesterday at evening rush hour..... things stayed interesting.

Point, Mica!!!
I guess the misery quotient doesn't count in this instance.

During the 9pm-6am construction routine? I'll pass.

When people tell me they're from NOVA or points beyond my standard reply is "my condolences" or "the best view of NOVA/DC/B'more is in your rear view mirror"

I've given serious consideration to moving towards Richmond's West End from Cville (less $$$ for real estate) as my wedding looms closer but the thought of having to use 95 through Fredvegas on my almost weekly trip to B'more makes me cringe.

the worst

I've lived in Philly, NYC, Long Island, Raleigh and SoCal, and Baltimore drivers are far and away the worst. The main rules of the road here are, 1) leave less than a car length between you and the guy in front at all speeds over 65 mph, and 2) leave two and a half car lengths between vehicles at all stop signs and red lights. Eeeediots!

I find DC to be worse than Baltimore. I've ridden in every big city in the Northeast, and the DC beltway is the only place I've actually been scared for my life.
