Hey, ADVers—we’ve got a bunch of photos of the 2025 Honda NX500, which returns to the US market this year mostly unchanged.

The NX500 came to market as the replacement for the old CB500X, introduced at the EICMA show in 2024. As we told you previously:

When the machine debuted at EICMA, we told you the 471 cc parallel twin engine still had 47 hp and 32 lb-ft of torque, but an ECU update overs improved acceleration feel, and a new set of five-spoke aluminum wheels cut roughly 3.3 lb of unsprung weight. The 41 mm Separate Function Fork-Big Piston front suspension setup has been retuned to match the reduced weight, with Honda saying the bike drops from 439 lb to 432 lb.

The NX500 is more off-road ready than the original CB500X, which came with 17-inch wheels front and rear to cut down on manufacturing costs. The aftermarket addressed that issue by providing 19-inch front wheels and other parts to make the CB more dirt-friendly; later, Honda carried some of those changes over to the CB500X model, and then on to the NX500.

While it isn’t as offroad-capable as the Africa Twin, or even the Transalp, the NX500 will make a much easier-to-manage bike than a full-sized ADV, and the $7,399 MSRP means you will spend less on your bike, opening adventure travel to a wider range of riders. And that parallel twin engine might not have the same zip as the bigger machines in Honda’s lineup, but it’s dead-nuts reliable, and will carry you at fast highway speeds for hours on end if you need it to do that.
