From the Husaberg forum is where I see ya. Gate isn't suppose to be locked. Was out there today on my Freeride. Going out tomorrow around 9. OHV singletrack from off of chimney rock to genoa peak rd. Then the singletrack that comes off of the road that goes to the plane wreck. You found this stuff yet?

No, that's all new to me. I've been up to Genoa peak and that's about it. I'll search out the plane wreck and chimney rock.
I'm aware of the hiking trail that goes from the base of Genoa peak and heads to downtown Genoa.

Freeride huh? I want to meet up and switch bikes with you for a few miles and try that out if you'd let me. I'm always looking for a light bike as I'm a 155lb weakling.

You might like it. It's fun as heck. Will lug like you wouldn't believe. I just lowered it 25mm(KTM kit) and put a 7mm lower seat on it. Seat is 34.5". Stock weight is 203lb and you can get a Nv plate for it. Mine is down to 195lb street legal. Just don't tell my wife how much Ti I've put on it.

Your real new up here then. There is also some nice singletrack back behind Pioneer trail. At the school turn left(if coming from the Casinos) go all the way back and you will see the trail system off to your right.

I'll pm you my number and just show you if you got time.

Hey guys, this is the perfect feed for me, hope you don't mind me jumping in. I live in NW Reno and have been cruising around the Dog Valley through Stampede Lake area in my camper truck for a few summers now, so I know that area pretty well. I just got this 2007 KLR650 and would like to find a few like minded people in the area to ride with. About me; My name is Dwayne, i'm 34. I rode dirt bikes as a teen and was pretty good. I feel like I have re-learned enough to really hit the trails on this KLR. I'm a great camper and very resourceful. I'm free almost every weekend+monday. My bike is plated, it has bags and too much extras to list. I just need 50/50 tires which will happen very quick. I'll pm some of the closer people on this thread, but if I don't see you feel free to contact me.

Anybody up for a ride-eat-drink-sleep weekend?

WHY: I put together a little thing together last year (linky=Sagebrush Ballyhoo) I know this is a bit of a late notice for this year as I sold my Tenere and got a WR250R last week.

WHERE: So I'm thinking of the Taylorsville Campground for this year too. I will call them to make sure the place is not booked out due to a Rodeo or something.

WHEN: Weekend of September 11, 12 and 13.

    any takers???

list here and once I call the campground I will make a new thread and move it over there.

I can`t make it this time- bummer because it was a lot of fun last year. I was wondering if you had found a smaller bike yet. Cool, the WRR should be a blast! Glad you found a buyer for your Tenere to fund the new one, too.

Thanks for showing me around Tahoe the other day Jeff. I'll have to go back to the Genoa singletrack and do some laps.

BTW, Jeff hauls ass on a bike. Just sayin.

It's the bike. Really:D. Maybe Sunday we can hit the other stuff. Tight, slower better place to try the Freeride.

Boy, that`s nice OF! Until I scrolled down to the pictures, I was in awe of your F800 piloting skills
It looks like you rode up from the "Cow Canyon" trailhead that mtb guys use. Is that open for motos, or were you on a parallel trail?

Hmmm... how did I end up italicized?

Ehhhh, I'm not really sure. It was some good single track though haha. I did eventually link up to hawk meadow on the way up. On my way back down I took the hawk meadow trail (the more eastern portion of my gpx) and then crossed over to the staging area. I never saw anything posted, but I imagine they don't normally do that anyway.
