Funny, I called Garmin about the same issue and they didn't know about this. They had me delete the drive app and put in a alternate email address that was not tied to Garmin explore. They also didn't know that when attached to explore you are not able to toggle tracks from not showing on the xt.

Just FYI for those waiting for a sale. Off Road Warehouse now has the XT for $399, no tax, free shipping. I’ve been searching and waiting, just pulled the trigger.

I have a Garmin Drive 55 car GPS, which is essentially a car version of the XT, and earlier, I was driving, and brought up the weather radar... well, at a cruising speed of 120 km/h (75 mph), the radar image was fully animated. Makes no sense that they can have any issues with a fix for the XT. :baldy

    Just venting.

    Cheers!

I did the same. When I looked at inventory though, warehouse said 0, only a few of the retail stores had any inventory. I've seen the order, but haven't received any sort of shipping confirmation, which makes me wonder if this means we'll be waiting for a bit.

Hopefully you called up Garmin about it? They know of the issue. The more of us that complain about it the priority it will have.

Yeah, I've talked to them a couple of times about it. Last time, the CS rep told me they were working on it. What's even sillier, is that when I first got my XT, the radar DID animate while moving. They disabled that with one of the firmware/software updates. It's just so frustrating. :baldy

    Cheers!

Just ordered. $380. Says out of stock at all locations though. I hope we're locked in to the price. I dont mind waiting. I have all winter. :vardy...Thanks for the heads up. Been thinking about one of these. But my Zumo still works ok. So I've been putting it off. Now I need 2 extra mounts. Wanna buy a good Zumo w/2 xtra mounts? :lol3

I called them yesterday to find out when it was going to ship. The guy was helpful. He put me on hold and checked. He said they had to order some from Garmin and would turn them around as soon as they came in. He indicated that it would be Monday when they received them and they would turn them around same day. We’ll see. I’m in no hurry. Price is good.

It ended up being a corrupted file. Did a complete reboot and is working now.

They’ve changed the harness. It’s pretty small now. I was able to tie up the whole harness the size of a golf ball with a zip tie and park it in the headlight nacelle

Well, I got an official reply from garmin about the weather radar, and it's just dumb! :dizave

Here's the email they sent me:

    "Hello,

Thank you for contacting Garmin International. After reviewing the issue you reported with the weather radar not animating, we've determined this functionality won't change at this time. However, if it is changed in the future, you will be notified via email. "

    :baldy:baldy:baldy

    I replied with this:

    "
    Hello Eric,

Can you please tell me why you won't change this? Not having the radar animated while in motion makes the feature virtually useless. I have a DriveSmart 55, that I use in my car, and the weather radar animates while I'm in motion on that device. It is FAR more useful to have the weather radar animated, while in motion, on a MOTORCYCLE gps, where we riders are actually exposed to the elements. When I purchased the XT last year, the weather radar animated while in motion, until one of your "updates" broke that functionality. I have spoken to MANY XT users, and we all agree that this is functionality we want restored. How about listening to your customers?

    Thank you."

Whoever makes these decisions at garmin is/are complete, brain-dead, morons! :csm

It never bothered me and apparently others because if it they did, Garmin would have likely changed it. Like it or not Garmin has their reasons and at least the incessant whining and tantrums about will finally end.

That’s odd. Because I have the most recent update and mine is animating. I’ll double check but I’m pretty sure
