I told the dealer that I chargd $10,000 a year for advertising with a 5 year minimum and it needed to be paid upfront and it is no refundable.

Needless to say there is no dealer markings on my vehicles.

Given the latest chatter about tag frames, I feel less guilty posting this. :D

Kathi and I spent several days last week in and around Wellsboro. Stayed at Bear Meadows Lodge; nice place. Few guests; we caged it (darn it), but one was even on a Guzzi!

Anyway, Kathi’s from Erie, but had never been to the area, tho I and moto-buds have a number of times. She was especially interested in the “Grand Canyon,” as she always enjoys reprising the Bataan Death March with me as the POW. She sure got her chance this time to prod me with her bayonet. :(

But, as we were in a cage, I only mention all of this because of a motorcycle-related sight that we wondered about and thought that somewhere here might know the story. I tried web searching but was unsuccessful in finding anything about it, thus this post.

As most of you likely know, there is a long bike and walking path along Pine Creek. It is on an abandoned RR bed, and runs more than 60 miles from Ansonia in the north at U.S. 6 to Jersey Shore near U.S. 220.

After getting down to the trail from the top at Harrison S.P. — Kathi lied about a beer tent and a bus at the bottom for the return :dirtdog— we walked north a few miles.

    Along the (lovely) way …

… we saw three small homes on the other side of the creek on a sliver of private property within Colton S.P. The one on the right in this photo is what brings about my question.

It doesn’t show well, but there is a large banner on the porch rail that says: "Isle of Man,” along with the famous three-legged “triskeles” on both sides.

Seemed an odd place for such sign, but I liked it.

    Anyone know anything about it?

    Thanks.

    Beer tent, bus ride?

Sounds like your gullible to believe most any story we would tell you!

She is a lots sweeter than you folks, and likely tells lies better, too. :arch

For example, she even said hat beer-tent girls were all comely lasses and wore dirndls. Who wouldn't (want to) believe that? :D

Beautiful pics - so ironic to see all the cars on the overpass in stop traffic on your open dirt road.

Heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who said that there was some scenic stuff up around the Allegheny Reservoir. So, this nurse figured I should check it out. The one road mentioned was Longhouse road.
    IMG_20220828_105208487.jpg

I rode up to Tyrone and rode 453 which was tar and chipped a couple months ago and isn't done but is pretty safe. 729 after that. Took the boring 219 .
On a side note, 322 is haunted by none other then Revolutionary war here "Mad" Anthony Wayne. Short story long, he died and was buried in Erie then 2 years or so later his body was boiled to get the bones out. His son lost some bones along the way and Mad Anthony is still looking for them.

End of the history lesson. I took 321at Wilcox to Kane. Yep, it was tar and chipped. Got off 321 on Longhouse Road.
    IMG_20220828_121420460_HDR.jpg

There's plenty of boat launches and a nice campground too. It's scenic but not super scenic. I did check out the overlooks. They have a nice view of Kinzua Dam.
    IMG_20220828_124513630.jpg

Oh, I took my SV again. It's becoming my go to.
    IMG_20220828_124521006.jpg

James Morrison bridge. Not the guy from The Doors.
    IMG_20220828_125546395_HDR.jpg

I went up 59 some then back on 321 . I think the road I hung a right on was 346 to Bradford. I did cross into NY for a minute just to say I did. They have bear crossing signs. Pretty cool.
    IMG_20220828_135215502.jpg

Ended back on 346 went through some small towns like Derrick City and Eldred. Made my way back to 6. I wanted to scope out some other roads but I was wanting to be home by 7 too. Back to 219 and went home the same way I got there. I filled up in Bradford with some 90 ethanol free. My SV turned over 10,000 today and averaged 60.5mpg. I rode 423 miles total.
    IMG_20220828_175014932.jpg IMG_20220828_175014932.jpg

The cool thing is I got home and a friend who I've know at least 40 years is in town visiting his parents, who actually live right up the alley from me. He brought his GS1250 that he bought while living in Germany. He's currently living in Wisconsin but brought the GS this trip in. Haven't seen him in about 2 years. I'm off Friday and he has no plans.

Sunday morning ride for chicken pot pie. Follow 611 North from Easton, PA and meander farther east past Martins Creek in search of River Road. First stop at Delaware Water Gap. Onto the Minisink Hotel for Lunch. Always stop at the Village Bakery in Delaware Water Gap for the pot pies. 611 #1.jpg 611#2.jpg 611#3.jpg

If you're in SE PA, there's a place on Rt 30 in Paradise that makes them. Only been there for about a year (was a specialty Christmas tourist place before that) and have not been in it but it looks like it is both retail as well as wholesale.

Took a quick ride to Hereford Berks County. The new WAWA has ethanol free gas.

A lot of them do, though not at every pump. Maybe just a couple at the end of the row.

    Also some Royal Farms.

Made an attempt at using the follow me feature on the drone. It’s moderately annoying and you have to ride really slow but it has potential.

Nomadic Pies in Kennett Square. https://www.nomadicpies.com/ I can attest to the chicken pot pie and steak & Gruyère as pretty damn good.

The only thing I found annoying was the dubbed-in soundtrack. Then again, I don't like much music written after 1941. :D

A Luddite in most things, but fascinated by drones and, especially, applications such as yours, I do wonder how the drone avoids tree limbs as it follows you.

Do such things -- or, at least, the upscale versions -- have collision-avoidance systems?

I was making a note about this and other pot-pie sites, when Kathi asked me what I was doing.

On learning, she said, "Do you have any clue about the calories in those things? The carbs? They'll kill you!"

I did not say what came to mind, but settled on the always satisfactory "Yes, Dear." :augie

What happens at pie shops stays at pie shops. Unfortunately, of course, they don't, but follow one around much closer than @Ceugster's drone. :fpalm

Given my rate of eating pot pies, I'm at peace with that. :D

And (unfortunately for me as I'm on a low-sodium diet) the sodium per serving size. "Isn't a whole pie a single serving?" Still, looks like an interesting destination some Friday or Saturday.

Took a bit of a trip between Sunday and Wednesday. A friend in York had to have a surgery and needed a hand, literally.
While down there I had some time to meander around. Rode up and down the Susquehanna and all around the general area. Took Pamela to see her birthplace. Strolled through a HD museum. Ate food at various diners. Broke down. As I was leaving to come home yesterday morning I stopped for coffee before hitting the slab and then upon trying to leave Pamela refused to start. I noticed the battery voltage was 11.9V. Called Eisenhauer’s York Harley Davidson and they sent a truck for me. They replaced the battery, checked the charging system and updated all the firmwares. From there headed West on 30 and made stops along the way in Gettysburg, Chambersburg until hitting 522 which I took North. I stopped again in Huntingdon then 26 to State College and then home again.
Spent two days driving my friend around to various medical appointments all over York and can’t help but to think of that town as a dump though people there seem pretty down to Earth and friendly.
That Chambersburg Family Diner makes a totally kickass burger, enjoyed the heck out of it.
Astoria Diner in York was full of staff and patrons with deep NY accents who must have all mistaken York as New York and never figured it out. Also good food.
My friends operation was a success and she’ll have full use of her hand again once it heals.
